Alyssa Hernandez

Alyssa Marie Hernandez is a clinical psychology graduate student investigating access to and quality of behavioral and mental health services for neurodiverse children from underserved and under resourced communities.  She is interested in applying development economic approaches to improve and complement support services; and understanding how to incorporate cultural and contextual factors to better intervention implementation and outcomes.  Alyssa partners and collaborates with community members and organizations in her research.  She received her BS in Psychology with a minor in Biology at the University of Texas at Austin.  Alyssa is from the Rio Grande Valley in Texas, a US-Mexico borderlands region.  She is advised by Drs. David Mandell and Melanie Pellecchia at the Center for Mental Health in the Psychiatry Department at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine.
