Chuyan is a Ph.D. student at Penn's Developing Minds Lab. Her research focuses on the origins and development of mathematical cognition and learning. In one line of research, she studies the underlying mechanisms that give rise to our primitive number sense. Other lines of her work include understanding the role of approximate arithmetic and non-symbolic ration processing in developing math skills.
