Mentored Research (aka Independent Study) fulfills the research requirement in the Psychology major. Students may pursue a one-semester project or a or two-semester project. Each semester earns one CU, and only one CU is required in the major. A maximum of two PSYC399 credits can count toward your Psychology Major. Any additional PSYC399 credits will count as electives in the College. Please read all relevant information on these web pages before proceeding with the application:

Students should bring this with them when they meet with prospective PSYC399 faculty mentors to facilitate the application process. You should identify if you will complete a one- or two-semester Mentored Research project. Two-semester PSYC399s can run Fall to Spring (one academic year), or Spring to Fall (starting one academic year and finishing the next). Applications will be reviewed January 18th.

This progress report is for research started in the Fall 2021 semester that will be completed in the Spring 2022 semester. This is for students currently enrolled in a 2-semester independent study (PSYC399). Your PSYC399 will not appear on your worksheet or transcript without completion of this report. Applications will be reviewed January 18th.
