The fields of cognitive science and educational psychology have a lot to offer one another. Research in these two sub-disciplines, however, has proceeded along mostly separate trajectories. This course will explore the connections between basic science research in cognition and cognitive neuroscience and applied research on learning. Critical examination of the literature will highlight theories from one field that converge or conflict with data from the other field. Topics include learning styles, multiple intelligences, and the representation of concepts in the brain.
