Research Experience in Abnormal Psychology: Psychological Interventions for Increasing Happiness

Course Description: 

In this course we will conduct original research studies examining various strategies for increasing happiness. After reading relevant literature, groups of 3-4 students will generate research questions, work with the instructor to design an experiment to address those research questions, conduct the experiment, and then write up the results in a publishable form. In addition to the substantial task of conducting a study from start to finish, considerable time will be spent on the writing process, and on giving clear, understandable oral presentations.

Prerequisite: 
Psychology 162 and Psychology 166 and one semester of statistics. Course limited to 16 students, preference will be given to senior psychology majors.
