Research Areas: Developmental Psychology

Penn's Psychology Department has played a leading role in developmental psychology over the past few decades, with particular strengths in cognitive development. Today, developmental psychology is represented by Paul Rozin, who studies the acquisition of preferences and values; Lila Gleitman, Daniel Swingley, and John Trueswell, who work on the psycholinguistics of language acquisition; and David White, who has interests in the ecology of social development in birds and mammals.
